Back to the real life

Jack and I are home from Utah and trying to settle into a routine. Rod is working and has class 2 or 3 nights a week. He is able to spend about 5 minutes with Jackson and by the time he gets home at 11:00 or so Jack is already asleep. He will be finishing up this fall and he can't wait!!! I am watching Ben M-Th and taking care of the "household duties". It has been a difficult transition and I'm sure will be even more difficult when the summer ends and I would usually be returning to the classroom. Don't get me wrong I love having the opportunity to stay home with Jackson but it is a bigger transition than I thought it would be.

Jack is changing every day. He will be four months old this week. He wants to get everything. Like right now he wants to bang on the key board. He will just lean towards what he wants. He is laughing more often but is still a very serious baby. He likes to look around at everything and watches things intently. Anything he does get his hands on goes straight in his mouth. Here are some pictures of his recent accomplishments...

Jack has found his toes but still needs a little help to get them up there to suck on.

We tried the bouncy seat out and Jack got the hang of it pretty quickly.

Jack loves the exersaucer. He is so focused on getting all the toys in his mouth.

Jack has also been enjoying sucking on his two fingers.

Jack has giggled a few times but it isn't easy. If something works one day it won't the next. He has to be in the right mood at the right time!!

You're doing great so far! Putting up with me is a chore in and of itself. I definitely couldn't do all this without your help.

I am looking forward to the day when I can actually come home after work and not have to worry about writing a paper, giving a presentation, or studying for an exam. I definitely won't miss 6-10:30 tax classes and an hour drive home afterwards.

Lunch time is over, back to work! Love you guys!

Cute kid! And I'm glad to see that you've inherited the Mackey proclivity for taking photos. Makes it easy to stay up-to-date.
